Jake was born and raised just outside of Greenville, SC, and began his professional life in construction management. After moving to the Charlotte area, he focused on high-end renovations, winning local and national awards. The recession of 2008, however, would force him to rethink his future. With an amazing and supportive wife and three young kids, he went back to school full time. He earned a bachelor’s degree of leadership in the public sector with honors from NC State. Then he and his family relocated to Oxford, MS, where he studied law at Ole Miss. He earned his J.D. with honors, being named to the Order of Barristers. In law school he was vice chair of the trial advocacy team and successfully competed in several national tournaments. After his first jury trial in the summer of 2013 (practicing under a mentor attorney while he was still in law school), he knew he was in the right spot professionally. He has tried cases to judge and jury across WNC since that day, both as a defense attorney and as a prosecutor. His unique life experiences and excellent education make him a great fit for someone that needs the best possible outcome. When he is not in a court room or the office you will find him enjoying time with his family or rambling about a hiking trail.
